Being critical

I did very poorly, 18/32 for the quiz…and went on to read Davids blog about the learning pyramid and the idea that it is a myth. In the main text on teaching, I use for USQ; “Teaching making a difference”  (Churchill et al, 2011) the index uses the term ‘Learning Styles” but the pages themselves refer to this in terms of multiple intelligence’s and differentiated learning. Sometimes I think I am reading the same thing with a slight difference and that makes it a whole new theory? As per the comments left on David’s blog those of us at the coal face or non career academics rely on the information we are given by the supposed reputable sources to be accurate and thorough, which now leaves me a touch confused about the sources I have used and what sources they have used and so on. What are peer reviews for again?
